President Michel appoints acting Justices of Appeal

President James A. Michel has appointed three acting Justices of Appeal to the Court of Appeal upon recommendation of the Constitutional Appointments Authority (CAA).

They will hear the appeal in the case of the petition by the Bar Association of Seychelles and Mrs Nicole Tirant-Gherardi challenging certain appointments made in December 2003 to the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.

The three acting Justices of Appeal are Honourable Justice G.J.C. Strydom, Chief Justice of Namibia; Honourable Justice Jacobus P. Ananndale, acting Chief Justice of Swaziland; and Honourable Justice Tom Cloete, Senior Judge in the Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa.
