
IMF gives better economic projections
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has improved the Seychelles' growth projections for 2009 to between negative 8 to 9 percent from an earlier forecast of minus 11 percent.

Seychelles is considering what would be the best possible agreement under which we might join the World Trade Organisation (WTO), the assistant registrar general Brassel Adeline has said.

Inflation which peaked as expected after we launched our reforms in November continues to fall, the Cost Price Index released by the National Statistics Bureau (NSB) on Thursday shows.
The Paris Club has written off 22.5% of Seychelles’ debts to it – half of the total agreed write-off of 45% – in line with the arrangement signed in April.
The confirmation came in a letter to Minister for Finance Danny Faure from Delphine D’Amarzit, co-chairman of the Paris Club, on July 17.
