The Seychelles is a group of islands a thousand miles from anywhere with an outstanding beauty neatly crafted through time. Whilst there are many places on earth which can boast beaches and warm seas, none come close to the uniqueness in terms of plants, birds and other natural wonders of the Seychelles. Being the only mid-oceanic granitic islands in the world, explorers have always been fascinated by their immense beauty. All of the 115 islands are different in character, and besides the granitic islands, an enchanting combination of coral islands and atolls sprawled mainly south of the equator awaits the curious explorer. Marine life is likewise abundant. This virtual website portrays the diversity and beauty of the small islands of the Seychelles through yet another microscope: the digital virtual world.
In our "Enviro News" newsletter which is published every two months, we hope to bring you closer to Seychelles, with short articles on places and activities to discover, as well as the more serious environmental activities by government, NGO’s and local communities, for without them current conservation efforts would be futile. We would like to invite your feedback on the information on this website, as well as your ideas on how to make it a truly eco-virtual website.
