On Saturday, the two Airtel Cup finalists, namely St Michel and La Passe, marked the Fédération internationale de football association (Fifa) Fair play day, an event celebrated the world over.
On this occasion, the two team captains – St Michel’s centre-back Nigel Freminot and La Passe goalkeeper Vincent Euphrasie – read a joint pledge where they promised to adhere to the rules of the game in the spirit of fair play.
This event is celebrated to help serve as a reminder to every player, coach, referee and fan not to lose sight of the fact that the best formula for playing football is by demonstrating fair play and respect.
